Use the information in the following sections when you call your service provider to order lines for an ISDN PRO service, T1 or E1, for your DIALs Switch.
The following table contains information that your service provider needs
from you to configure the lines for your DIALs Switch.
Required Information | Available Options | |
---|---|---|
Number of lines | Your required number of lines. | |
Service type | Your required network services for the lines. | |
Telephone numbers | Your required number of telephone numbers for the lines. | |
Hunt groups | Your required hunt groups.
Recommended option: It is recommended that you use a uniform (random) call distribution hunt group. | |
For T1/PRI | For E1/PRI | |
Framing type | No framing
T1 with Super Frame (SF) (for a D4 channel bank) T1 with Extended Super Frame (ESF) T1 with Extended Super Frame (ESF) SCL96 T1 with Extended Super Frame (ESF) ZBTSI Recommended option: It is recommended that you use T1 with ESF. | No framing
E1 with CRC-4 multiframing with the Si bit set for Far End Block Error (FEBE) checking E1 with CRC-4 multiframing with the Si bit set to 1 E1 with CRC-4 multiframing without CRC-4, and the Si bit set to 1
Recommended option: It is recommended that you use CRC-4 Multiframing with the Si bit set for FEBE checking. |
Coding | Alternate Mark Inversion (AMI)
Jammed Bit Zero Suppression (JBZS) Zero Byte Time Slot Interchange (ZBTSI) Bipolar 7 Zero Substitution (B7ZS) Bipolar 8 Zero Substitution (B8ZS) Recommended Option: It is recommended that you use B8ZS for T1 service. You must use B8ZS for ISDN PRI service. | Alternate Mark Inversion (AMI)
Jammed Bit Zero Suppression (JBZS) High Density Bipolar 3 (HDB3)
Recommended Option: It is recommended that you use HDB3. |
Dial type | Dial Tone Multi-Frequency (DTMF)
Pulse Dial | Not applicable |
The following table contains information that you need from your service
provider to set up your DIALs Switch. Use the following information to
configure your DIALs Switch after it has been installed.
Required Information | Available Options | |
---|---|---|
Telephone numbers | The assigned telephone numbers for your lines. | |
Telephone number digits | The number of telephone number digits transmitted from your service provider's switch to the DIALs Switch. | |
Circuit ID numbers | The circuit ID number assigned by your service provider for each line you ordered. Save these numbers for troubleshooting purposes. | |
For T1/PRI | For E1/PRI | |
Line build-out (LBO) | Line build-out enables the
DIALs Switch to
compensate for the loss in decibels on the line connecting the DIALs Switch to
the line from your service provider.
If you have an internal CSU, your service provider needs to specify the loss in decibels based on the distance to the first repeater. If you have an external CSU, such as a DSX-1 interface, your service provider needs to specify the length in feet to the DSX-1 cross-connect point. | Not applicable. |
